Crystal Lake Rowing Club was formed in 2004 by a small group of enthusiastic rowers to provide competitive and recreational sweep and sculling opportunities for the Crystal Lake area. CLRC became an affiliate of the Crystal Lake Park District and established a boathouse in Kamijima Park. To promote the competitive aspect of rowing for high school students, CLRC began hosting the Greater Chicago Junior Rowing Championships (GCJRC) in 2006. Each year the GCJRC attracts over 1,000 young competitors.
One Team inspiring individuals to reach their full potential one stroke at a time.
MISSION STATEMENT (CLRC)
Provide life-long learning experiences through the sport of rowing that enhances one’s personal development and inspires healthy competition in a cohesive team-focused environment.
CLRC encourages healthy, positive, and cohesive relationships among its membership. We strive for a friendly competitive spirit and a positive reputation in the eyes of other teams, parents, officials, and our community at large. We promote an “open door” policy and culture where members and the CLRC Board of Directors work together to create a positive and inspiring environment. In addition, to our adult Masters rowing program, it is our mission to support and encourage high school students to attain their personal best and to value team spirit through The CLRC Juniors program
